MILTON, Ga. — The City of Milton partnered with the Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency (AFCEMA) to place a weather monitoring station at Fire Station 43 in the Birmingham area of Milton. This new station will provide real-time data to the City and to county, state, and federal partners to increase knowledge of weather patterns in Milton and in the metro Atlanta region. In addition, it increases the ability to assess the potential impact of weather-related emergencies.

The Earth Works monitoring station in Milton is part of the larger county-wide monitoring system spearheaded by AFCEMA. The automated stations collect wind velocity, barometric pressure, heat index, lightning strikes and other data, all of which will allow us to make more accurate decisions during an emergency and help increase the safety for our residents.

The free Weatherbug app, available for Android and Apple users, incorporates all the Earth Networks data to offer Milton-specific weather details.
