The City of College Park to host the third of six conventions at GICC

ATLANTA, Ga (August 7, 2017) On August 11, 2017, Jehovah’s Witnesses will begin their third of six conventions at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) with the theme “Don’t Give Up!”  As in the years past, Witnesses are participating in a global campaign to personally invite the general public to attend.

Admission to each event is free and no collections are taken.

“There will be 500 of these “Don’t give up” three-day conventions in over 100 cities in the US this summer and globally, thirteen million people are expected to attend,” states Greg Hester, a spokesman for the Jehovah’s Witnesses convention.” We’re expecting an average of 6000 attendees each day at our convention in College Park this weekend.”

The program will be presented in various formats such as brief discourses, interviews and short videos.  There will also be a three-part feature film entitled Remember the Wife of Lot shown each afternoon.

The City of College Park has warmly welcomed Jehovah’s Witnesses this summer as they support the local hotel and restaurant community.  Terrance R. Moore, College Park City Manager commented, “The City of College Park including our leadership and staff at Georgia International Convention Center have been extremely pleased with our partnership with the contingent of Jehovah’s Witnesses and their series of conventions.  This experience has been an extreme pleasure for us as a host community.  All involved are therefore very encouraged as we welcome opportunities for continued partnership and success.”

There will be 21 Jehovah’s Witnesses Regional Conventions held in Georgia this summer.

Jehovah’s Witnesses invite people of all ages, races and ethnic groups.  The four remaining three-day conventions at GICC will be held Aug.11-13, 18-20, 25-27 and Sept. 1-3.  Sessions begin at 9:20 am on all three days of the convention.

No collections are ever taken at Jehovah’s Witness Conventions or meetings.
