MILTON, Ga. — Road work is set to begin this week on 34 residential Milton roads, but residents don’t need to worry about road closures or detours.

Pavement Technologies, Inc. will lay a “rejuvenation” surface treatment on the roads that will increase the life expectancy of the roads and assist in sealing the road from the elements.

The process is set to begin June 28 and last through July 3. Crews will lay the treatment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

The contractor will thoroughly clean the asphalt surface, then spray the road with a truck-mounted sprayer one lane at a time. The cure time on the treatment is usually 30 minutes.

Drivers are able to drive slowly over the surface during the treatment and curing phase, so no lane closures, delays or detours will occur.

The Milton City Council approved the agreement with Pavement Technologies at its June 19 meeting. The cost for the project is $76,891.
